Should I convert my carb to a 4 barrel?
I have a 1972 f100 automatic with dual cherry bombs. Some one suggested that I get a adapter plate.

No one suggested you get an adapter plate only that they were made. The 600 can be jetted down to run the 302 fine. You should buy a 4 barrel intake. The 4 barrel on a 2 barrel intake will not perform as well. From the mods you are talking about in all of these different questions it sounds very much like you are heading for nitrous oxide. If that is the case the adapter plate will cause you problems. The ideal carb would be in the 525 cfm range.
Every reply to your adapter question, mine included said it was a bad idea. Unless you didn't have a two barrel carb already there is no reason to be using a 4 barrel on a two barrel intake. It is a cheaper option than buying a carb for broke people it is not a performance option.
Ah I missed the specific nitrous question.
You'll be building a new engine soon.
Nitrous needs more fuel to prevent detonation. Using the adapter to put a 4 barrel on a 2 barrel intake will cause fuel droplets to form and the nitrous won't flow as well as with a 4 barrel intake. If you want this to last for awhile it won't work. High mileage and nitrous do not mix well. You will also have tranny problems in a hurry.
