Does light scratches on the face of the driver effect the performance?
Hi, I just got a brand spanking new Callaway Hyper X 9.5 Tour Driver. I took it out to range and after a couple of awesome hits, I noticed that there were few fine scratches on the face of the club due to some sand from the range ball...arrrrrr!! Now will that effect the performance of the driver - such as ball flights and distance?
No, but yes after a long period of time. With 50+ rounds a year and average range work it may take 3-5 years to see any difference.
MAKE SURE YOUR RANGE BALLS ARE NOT COVERED IN SAND BEFORE YOU HIT YOU DRIVER. Sand between the ball and club face can cause nasty marks on you driver!!!!
